1. What belongs in the gallery
Submissions should be genuine administrative-map proposals created through the site. Province and territory names, captions, rationales, and overall explanations should help viewers understand the design. A map does not need to preserve current boundaries or reflect a mainstream opinion.
2. Respectful political expression
You may discuss governance, representation, language, culture, economic development, geography, federal administration, or other political considerations. Criticism of institutions, policies, ideologies, and public officials is permitted. Do not direct degrading, dehumanizing, threatening, or harassing language at people or protected communities.
3. Content that is not allowed
- Threats, praise or incitement of violence, or instructions for causing harm.
- Hateful or dehumanizing content targeting people based on ethnicity, nationality, religion, sect, language, caste, race, sex, gender, disability, or another protected characteristic.
- Targeted harassment, bullying, sexual content involving minors, or exploitation.
- Private personal information, including addresses, phone numbers, account credentials, or information intended to identify or endanger a private person.
- Impersonation, deceptive attribution, fabricated official status, or claims that a submission is government-approved.
- Spam, advertising, repeated low-effort submissions, coordinated like manipulation, automated abuse, malware, or attempts to disrupt the site.
- Content that unlawfully infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Names or rationales that are unrelated to the map and exist mainly to evade moderation.
4. Privacy and attribution
Do not include personal or sensitive information in a public field. Public attribution is “Anonymous” by default. If you choose a nickname or display name, use one you are comfortable showing publicly and do not impersonate another person or organization.
5. How moderation works
Every gallery request is reviewed before publication. A moderator may approve it, reject it, or return it with a revision request. Moderators may correct a clear typo or translation error or remove an isolated prohibited term when doing so does not change the creator’s meaning. They must not redraw the map, reassign districts, or rewrite a political position. Ambiguous or meaning-dependent problems should be returned to the creator.
6. Updates and repeat violations
Published maps cannot be silently overwritten. A material change creates a new version and returns to moderation. We may remove a published map if a later concern is confirmed. Repeated or serious violations may result in submission limits or account restrictions.
7. Reporting and appeals
If you believe content violates these rules, infringes your rights, or creates a safety concern, use the Content Removal page. Include the gallery link or public reference and a concise explanation. Creators may use the same process to ask why a submission was removed or to request reconsideration.
